A characteristic feature is the lack of transparency of the crystal. This is how morion differs from its “brother” - transparent rauchtopaz. Deposits were found in the Urals and Transbaikalia, the North Caucasus and Kazakhstan. Gems are mined in Madagascar, Ukraine, Brazil, the USA and Canada.
