From ancient times to the present day, jewelers have come up with a huge number of different types of jewelry. It would seem that now it is no longer possible to create something fundamentally new. However, the Japanese jeweler Hidetaka Dobashi clearly did not agree with this, who presented special jewelry at an exhibition in Hong Kong in June 2012 - "dancing" diamonds.
One of the main properties of diamonds is their unique ability to completely reflect light within themselves and return it back, decomposing it into different parts of the spectrum. We say that the stone “plays” or “burns.” This play occurs when the diamond moves slightly relative to our view.
Hidetaka Dobashi created an unusual “sparkling setting” for diamonds that makes them move intensely by simply shooting out light.

To denote this movement, he uses the term “dance”, hence the name “dancing” diamonds.
The history of the creation of the “dancing diamond”
In traditional jewelry, the “king of stones” is attached motionlessly - they have a rigid support. In stationary products the play of light is not visible; they need to be viewed from different angles to see the “burning” in different colors.
The Japanese master Hidetaka Dobashi came up with a special type of frame design. In this design, the gem is fixed in such a way that at the slightest movement it begins to vibrate, since it is fixed at only two points of support and does not come into contact with either the clothing or the body of its “bearer”.
Dobashi is the founder of the jewelry company and inventor. In addition to the “dancing” mount, he developed magnetic decorations for glasses. He also came up with a special cutting method that allows you to get a cross-shaped glow.
The idea, as the author of the invention himself says, to use such a mount came to him in 2010. He made many attempts to achieve the desired effect, ruined many stones, but by 2013 he managed to achieve his goal.
Note that dancing diamonds did not immediately create a sensation. At first, Mr. Dobashi’s invention was more than skeptical, but he did not give up and made a whole collection. When 145 pieces of jewelry with an unusual presentation were already presented at the exhibition in Hong Kong, well-deserved success came. And in 2014, the “dancing diamond” was patented by a Japanese jeweler and began its solemn procession across countries.
Extraordinary properties
For many years, jewelers painstakingly studied the art of cutting in order to emphasize the “fire” inside the diamond. However, before Hidetaka Dobashi, it never occurred to anyone to make a dynamic frame for it, to get rid of the static nature of jewelry.
"Dancing" diamond
So, “dancing diamonds” is the name of a special type of jewelry in which the diamond is attached to the pendant in such a way that it cannot remain in one position. In conventional methods of fastening diamonds, there is always a rigid support that prevents the movement of the stone. Hidetaka Dobashi got rid of restrictions. He came up with a double-sided support that limits the stone on only two sides. Thus, the stone constantly sways under its own weight.
The peculiarity of such a “dancing” stone is its continuous flickering. This allows you to see and fully appreciate how a diamond can “burn” in different colors. In static jewelry, this property is not so clearly revealed: in order to admire the shine of the stone, it must be moved and positioned differently relative to the light source.
What is the invention
In order to understand how the innovation invented by Mr. Dobashi is expressed, let’s first consider how traditional gems are attached. There are only two ways.
Rigid fixation of the stone in the decoration. With this method, the stone can only move together with the entire decoration. For example, a diamond ring. The stone is fixed at one point, “suspended”. This mount is used for pendants and earrings. If the jewelry sways when the owner moves, then the stone sways, but such vibrations quickly die out.
Hidetaka Dobashi's invention is aimed precisely at ensuring that the slightest movement - even a sigh - causes the diamond to vibrate, although the jewelry itself is not particularly affected. He managed to achieve this through an unusual fastening design - the stone in it is limited to two points of contact. Due to this, he literally comes to life, plays, “dances.”
What is a “dancing diamond” and what does it look like - is it worth buying jewelry
Hello, our dear readers.
It is not without reason that diamond is one of the most popular stones in jewelry. Many cutting shapes, harmonious combinations with other stones, and magnificent frames have been invented for it. It would seem that they have been able to work with this stone for a long time and nothing new can be invented here. But there is one invention that appeared not so long ago, but became a breakthrough in the world of jewelry - the dancing diamond. Not so long ago, in 2012, at a Hong Kong exhibition, the world was presented with a radically new method of setting diamonds, invented by the Japanese Hidetaka Dobashi. He decided that the smoothness of the tints in a gemstone is, of course, good, but bright and expressive people need something more. Then, as a result of two years of thought and experimentation, a completely new type of fastening was born.
Is it worth buying “dancing” jewelry?
It is quite clear that everyone has different tastes. Some people like everything classic, he (or rather, of course, she) is not ready to experiment with “eternal values”, but others are simply delighted with everything unusual.
It's up to you to decide. If you think that a diamond in a piece of jewelry should glow softly and subduedly, then your direction is classic. If you like enchanting sparkle more, and you are ready to attract the attention of others, then the “dancing diamond” is simply created for you.

In Russia, “dancing” pebbles are promoted and sold in the retail network.
Bronnitsky Jewelry Factory - reviews

Disgusting store, no service or customer support. Never buy here if you don't want to ruin your mood

I bought a lot of jewelry from Bronnitsky Jeweler But..... I decided to check the authenticity and compliance with the guest of two of the jewelry I bought, a ring made of yellow gold, 50 thousand and a men's chain made of red gold 70 thousand, I took it for examination and Oh, horror, the ligature is broken, which means it's a fake !!! By the way, my brother wore the chain for a long time and it began to fade and became very different from the color it was when I bought it. And I bought 365 thousand worth of products from them. And now I am tormented by doubts that these products are genuine. I am very upset. I was just scammed, without a sucker, as they say, and life is bad!

We bought wedding rings at the Bronnitsky jeweler, and now we are watching how white gold smoothly turns into yellow, and in a couple of months! They didn’t save the receipts because it was difficult to even imagine such a situation ((((

Disgusting store. I'll tell you a story: last Sunday, June 16, 2019, in the salon of the Atrium shopping center, I fell in love with the set art D0001241305165 and art D0001241307000, but there were not enough funds. On the same day, through the website, I made a request to the store administrators for an additional discount on the amount I had. And, on Monday - a MIRACLE - a call from the store employees with the words: “Your discount has been approved - we value our customers!” I’m frantically borrowing the missing money, today, 06/21/19, I’m flying in my dreams: “darling, wait, I’ll buy you and put you on right away!” Here I am in the Atrium, and the saleswoman says to me: “You were approved for a smaller discount, i.e. the kit will cost more.” This is a disgusting store. After looking through the page of reviews, I noticed that the administrators do not publish negative ones. That's why I'm posting my review here.

I bought a gold chain in 2021. The first repair of the clasp was still under warranty, because it stopped functioning and I miraculously did not lose the chain. And now it’s the same story again, when I didn’t find the chain on my neck, it was hanging on my underwear. The carabiner broke again and I sent it in for repair again. In general, the quality of carabiners on chains is poor and unreliable, and you can lose the chain at any time...
Marina
The sellers are very “kind”... but the service is terrible, very long. We were with a child, buying children's earrings...we waited 15 minutes for someone to pay attention to us. We won't come to this store again.

We opted for interesting wedding rings, as the sellers at the Chocolate shopping center told me, they were made of combined gold (red and white).
In the end, it turned out that they were made of red and covered with rhodium, which was applied terribly and immediately began to wear off on the very first day.
We contacted the store and sent it for examination.
According to the results, we misinterpret their words, resulting in a refusal.
Do not buy from this chain stores.
Sellers deceive, but their expertise is also the same.
The rings cost 30 thousand, in fact it was money down the drain.
The link to our ring, we hadn’t looked at them on the Internet before, so we got caught.

Don’t buy Bronnitsky jeweler’s chains if you don’t want to waste a lot of nerves and money, especially these new ones with a gold spring. I bought it, succumbing to the seller’s persuasion, the lock broke after a week! Here's a golden spring for you, and when returning it they began to shift all the blame onto me, the examination, they say, is at your expense! Or, they say, change it (what a mockery) at the factory for a metal spring! They explain to you that a normal one will be inserted into your chain at the factory! spring! Why then advertise this junk as a super thing!
During a frank conversation with the seller, it turned out that the pearls are not pearls, and the stones, as they say, are falling off. And, moreover, this is said so calmly, as a self-evident and familiar fact, as if it were some kind of cheap jewelry! It turned out that a lock with a golden spring cannot be opened more than 10 times - it breaks, and it is better to remove the chains over the head, imagine, and it is not advisable to wear pendants on them. What's the point of buying these gold chains and then finding out that you didn't get lost by luck?
In general, I haven’t seen such Sovdepov quality for a long time! I will never buy products from this factory again, there is no trust.

I bought a silver ring with a stone as a gift, within an hour 2 stones fell off, I took it to the store, in the end it took more than 2 weeks for an examination, they gave me a paper with a photo stating that it was their fault, after returning the ring in the same condition and 3 watches on my hand Another stone fell off. In the end, it became clear that defective products and such examination are a waste of time for the buyer. I do not recommend the Bronnen jeweler to anyone!!!

I bought a hand-woven gold chain in a store (at Prazhskaya metro station) of the Bronnitsky Jewelry Factory for 32,000 rubles. with their innovation - a spring in the lock. Not even a week had passed since this lock broke, and during all this time I unfastened it 3 times. It’s good that at least it broke at home, otherwise I could have lost the chain. But this purchase is still not cheap and is bought with the expectation of wearing it for more than a year or two.

I’ll tell you everything from the very beginning: they gave me earrings with a dancing diamond, a week later the stone began to wear off. They changed it the first time, the same story, it turns over, the stone is not visible at all. I decided not to take them anymore, but to exchange them for certificates. I bought other jewelry. one of them, a very beautiful ring, but exactly a month later the stone fell out. And a month later another stone. Passed it. I wrote in the complaint to replace it with a new one. Exactly a month passed and no one called me (despite the fact that the examination lasted 21 days). Okay, screw them. I'm calling myself. But the store doesn’t know, they just forgot (think of it as a ring for 15,000, but now it costs 20,000) (Shopping Center Shchuka. The seller wrote the last name very unclearly, so I can’t write it). A week later they called me and said that they had a new ring and I could pick it up. I arrive at the store. It’s funny to look at this ring: it’s crooked, the cap is turned, you can’t even put it on. I don’t understand where the Administrator was looking when she called and said that the ring was new and in excellent condition. I called the hotline. They basically don't care. In general, people, don't get involved. I'm already tired of traveling and figuring things out. Why should I go there 10 more times for that kind of money?

Bronnitsky Jeweler, they make poor quality jewelry. I bought a bracelet, rose weave, size 18, weight 4.80. I didn’t even ask for the bracelet to be worn for two months, the link broke, I contacted Bronnitsky, they carried out an espretiz and did not recognize that the gold was not of high quality and I had to pay for repairs, but after the repair they returned the bracelet two sizes larger, this indicates that the gold was re-stretched and made more thinner!!!! They also returned gold that weighed less (4.70), they say after the examination the gold may lose weight, but the examination described the method it was used in, an expert with glasses inspected the bracelet and did not find a defect! The question is, how can gold lose weight with such examination??? Plus they gave a guarantee for repairs for half a year. So two weeks later it tore again. I took the bracelet to them again, they refuse to recognize it as a marriage. Also, after repair under warranty, they refuse to repair it. Don’t buy gold in Bronnitsky. It’s counterfeit and they will deceive you just like me and they will scam you out of your money.!!!! I'm very disappointed in this network.

I bought wedding rings. The story is long: there was an examination in violation of all the rules, then a claim was written and submitted to the salon, another examination this time with all the necessary documents provided by BRONNITSKY, a factory defect was confirmed, then they offered to replace it with a similar ring. I agreed , in the end, with this ring it’s the SAME: after 15 minutes (!!!!) of wearing the ring cracks before my eyes (by the way, the ring is made of white gold, costing more than 40,000), I again send it for examination this time to get the money back. Within a few days later they call, report the result of the examination: mechanical damage and say that they should have worn it more carefully. I didn’t even wash the dishes in it, I always took it off before doing any activity. Disgusting attitude, incompetent staff, both in the salon and in the office !I really regret that we got in touch! I got married and had a wedding in this ring. And now I can’t even get my money back for a low-quality product!! A lot of wasted nerves. I’ve been married for 4 MONTHS, I wore both rings for a total of about a month. That’s all very briefly stated, the officially submitted claim is 6 sheets, the claim contains only a chronology by day.

Advantages:
They took it for repairs for 45 days.
Flaws:
Product quality.
On July 15, 2017, I bought a handmade white gold chain. I wore it very carefully, but it didn't help. On May 11, 2018, I discovered that the chain had come unfastened and was simply hanging unfastened on my neck. I buttoned it up. When I came home I discovered the same thing, the chain unfastened on its own and it was a miracle I didn’t lose it. Having examined it carefully, I realized that the spring had broken for reasons unknown to me...

We bought silver items in the salon, after some time everything turned terribly black, in the salon they said it was nonsense, buy a special product, they bought it, washed it, it began to turn black faster and more strongly, very unpleasant. We bought a lot of silver, a lot of jewelry for men and women for children. Pendants, rings, earrings and all that black stuff cannot be worn. It turns black right on you after the first wear in the morning, put it on in the evening already all black. My friends have the same story, and the most offensive thing is that I convinced them to buy in this damn jewelry store
How to wear products with “dancing” stones?
First of all, any diamond jewelry is only suitable for a married woman. It is also quite suitable as an engagement gift.
It is better to wear it in the evening, especially for pendants and earrings. In the evening light, an unusually shining diamond can bewitch and attract attention to its owner. But in the daytime and in everyday situations it can be mistaken for jewelry.
Of course, the jewelry should match the style of clothing and the occasion, because this is a special stone! When purchasing, you should carefully examine the stone, preferably through a magnifying glass, then you can notice cracks, scratches, and inclusions. You should also check the fastening.
Dancing diamonds look best in white and yellow gold.
Properties of dancing crystals
People have known since time immemorial that diamonds are endowed with many healing properties. Many handwritten treatises are devoted to this topic.
According to gemologists, with the help of dancing crystals one can treat mental disorders and diseases of the nervous system, and also use them in the fight against:
- drug addiction;
- alcoholism;
- insomnia;
- sclerosis;
- depressive states;
- all kinds of stress and phobias.
In addition, lithotherapists use dancing diamonds for:
- treatment of skin diseases;
- improving the functioning of the digestive organs;
- treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system and upper respiratory tract;
- strengthening the immune system.
It should be taken into account that when treating serious illnesses, the healing power of dancing diamonds should be used as part of complex therapy, which prescribes the mandatory use of medications prescribed by a qualified specialist.
However, the very fact of presenting jewelry with a dancing diamond can not only improve the mood of any representative of the fair sex, but also make her feel happier.
Dancing (sometimes called floating) diamonds, virtually free of flaws, are suitable for women of any age. You will have to get used to their non-stop flickering.
If the expressive play of continuously dancing crystals causes irritation, it is better to refuse to purchase such jewelry.
Jewelry sensation
Admiration came a few months later at another exhibition, in which the entire collection of jewelry with dancing diamonds participated. Pendants, pendants, rings and earrings performed their lively dance in such a way that they literally captivated everyone.
Their movement was so smooth that many wanted to immediately purchase earrings with floating diamonds. Many investors immediately agreed to work with Dobashi. He received a patent for his invention.
Before this sensational discovery, jewelers used static methods to set gemstones. With rigid or semi-rigid fixation, cut diamonds could not move; they could not be called dancing. They only shone when the owner made a sudden movement or when a bright light was directed at them.
Now everything has changed. Jewelry with floating diamonds can constantly play with light.
In the catalog of a network of jewelry stores, prices for jewelry from the “Dancing Diamond Air” collection are as follows:
- ring – from 58,000 rubles;
- suspension – from 34,000 rubles;
- bracelet – from 160,000 rubles;
- earrings – from RUB 73,000;
- necklace – from RUB 39,000;
- studs – from 76,000 rub.
Reviews
Reviews from customers who own jewelry with dancing stones are full of rave reviews.
The advantages of these products, in their opinion, are:
- The ability to emit continuous flickering as a result of imperceptible impulses (for example, during breathing and even rapid heartbeat) emanating from their owners. As a result, the owners of exquisite jewelry, emitting cascades of dazzling flashes, find themselves in the center of admiring attention from others.
- The highest quality (manifested in the impeccable coloring and ideal purity of the stones) and the impeccable cut of the diamonds used to make jewelry.
- In the extraordinary reliability of fastening the stones, “dancing” in an almost imperceptible frame.
The number of people who do not share the enthusiasm of fans of a fashionable novelty is very small. From their point of view, continuously twitching crystals emitting a trembling glow cause nothing but irritation.
